Students began working with 35mm cameras by choosing a location or neighborhood of interest to photograph. They selected a specific subject matter to focus on within the location, such as windows, natural textures, signage, or structures. We practiced various ways to frame an image, considering composition, camera angle, and distance. Students explored altering these elements within their photographs and ultimately identified questions of interest about place through their visual investigations.
